Waronker began exhibiting in Los Angeles in 2009, initially working primarily in assemblage. After a busy period of group exhibitions and a solo show hosted by Bleicher Gallery La Brea, she stepped away from exhibiting to undertake an intensive study and practice of shamanism. She continued to create during this period, and her work expanded across media, including photography, drawing, bookmaking, and photographic works made with steam.

She earned a BA from Macalester College, where she studied filmmaking and anthropology, and later studied assemblage under Dominique Moody. Her art has been used on album covers for various artists, including Ben Lee, and Lisa Germano.
